Athens, the Beautiful Aegean and Northern Greece Ext (2024)

Day 1

Welcome to Europamundo! Upon arriving at the airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Check the information boards in the hotel reception area for details of the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travelers.

Day 2

Full day Mediterranean Cruise. After breakfast we include a transfer to the port of Lavrio. Departure at 11 a.m.- Enjoy the landscapes from the sea. 18:00 hrs- Expected arrival in Mykonos. Free time on the island of windmills and white houses by the sea.-23:00 hrs.- Mykonos, departure. Overnight on board.

Day 3

07.00 hrs.- KUSADASI -Arrival-. On the Turkish coast. You can shop in the bazaars before taking the excursion to see the ancient Ephesus.-12.00 hrs- Kusadasi -departure for Patmos-.16.00 hrs.- PATMOS -Arrival -. The island where the apostle St John wrote the Apocalypse; you can see the cave where he lived near the Monastery of the Apocalypse.21.00 hrs.- Patmos -departure-. Night on board, maybe a dance in the night club?

Day 4

Mediterranean cruise.Arriving in HERAKLION at 07:00, the capital of the Greek island of Crete, and home of the archaeological remains of Knossos. After time to explore, an 11:30 departure. Next stop is SANTORINI, arriving at approximately 16:30. Probably the most impressive of the Mediterranean islands with its hillsides, white villages full of light and impressive views of the sea. At 21.00 our cruise goes back out to sea, last night on board, enjoy the party!

Day 5

Arrival in the early morning. We include a city tour of Athens, during which we will see the Presidential Palace, the Panathenaic Stadium (where the first modern day Olympic games were held), the national library, the busy downtown plazas, as well as the new suburbs which appeared at the time of the 2004 Olympic Games. We will finish the tour at the Acropolis (entrance not included).

Day 6

We depart early in the morning towards the North of Greece. We will make a stop in KAMENA VOURLA, a beautiful touristic hub next to the sea surrounded by beautiful landscapes. We will then proceed to the north. We will make a short stop in the gorge where the Battle of Thermopylae took place. We will visit KASTRAKI, a picturesque village with beautiful views of the whole valley and where we will have free time for lunch before visiting the METEORA valley, a breathtaking place which has been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We include admission to one of the most famous monasteries. Dinner is included in KALAMBAKA.

Day 7

We will travel south through the Thessaly region. We will arrive in DELPHI after enjoying the view of wonderful landscapes. We include admission to the beautiful archaeological complex that overlooks the Gulf of Corinth with incredible landscapes, time for lunch. After that we travel to the OSIOS LOUKAS MONASTERY, one of the most beautiful Byzantine monasteries in Greece, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its magnificent 11th century mosaics are incredible. We continue towards ATHENS. Arrival in the evening.

Day 8

After breakfast, end of our services.
