Naypyidaw Myanmar

Located in Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Daw, which means royal city of the sun, is the capital of Myanmar. Constructed in the early 2000s to replace former capital Yangon, it is a very young city and sparsely populated. It is a city of wide boulevards, highways and extravagant roundabouts. Nay Pyi Daw main attraction is the Uppatasanti Pagoda or Peace Pagoda, a replica of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and stands 100 metres high. Other attractions in the city are the Water Fountain Garden, the huge and impressive parliament building, the sculptures depicting the three most important kings in Burmese history, the National Herbal Park and the Gem Museum.
