Hilda

Hotel was closed for renovations and they didn’t inform us before we arrived. We had to look for an alternative place to stay at night and Expedia was not helpful either with finding another hotel. I would never recommend this place because of the lack of communication and inconvenience caused!

Great pool, but not a great beach

Our family stayed here 3 nights. The pool was great and so was the bar. It is a very secluded, small resort. It would take quite a while, and a driver, to go eat away from the resort. They have various meal packages which include, or don't include drinks. The beach is not swimmable, and not very sightly due to the amount of seaweed. But, if you look beyond the beach to the water and horizon, it's beautiful. They offer a boat ride Mon, Wed, and Fri to another beach to swim. The restaurant is outdoors, but covered. Rooms have individual AC units. We spent most of our time at the pool, or relaxing in a hammock.

Located in Chwaka, Filao Beach Resort by Sansi is by the ocean, within a 10-minute drive of Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park and Marumbi Beach. This beach lodge is 12.7 mi (20.4 km) from Kiwengwa Beach and 3.8 mi (6.1 km) from Uroa Beach.

Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous archipelago off the coast of Tanzania consisting of Zanzibar Island or Unguja, Pemba Island and many smaller islands. Zanzibar is an infusion of Arabic, Indian and African cultures. There is a lot to see and to do on Zanzibar Island. First and foremost, do enjoy the amazing white sand beaches especially at the north, east and south coast. The sand has the consistency of castor sugar. Zanzibar also has quite a lot of caves, as Tazani near Nungwi. Also do a village tour that are offered all over the island. The market in Stone Town, the enchanting capital, is one of the largest, most vibrant open-air markets anywhere. It doesn’t get any better than Zanzibar. Beautiful beaches, historical architecture, friendly people and affordable services. Adventures and relaxation await you.
