Mexiko-Stadt ist eine lebendige Metropole und kosmopolitische Stadt, die auf einer Ebene im zentralen Hochland in einer Höhe von 2.286 Metern liegt. Sie ist die Hauptstadt von Mexiko und die bevölkerungsreichste Stadt Nordamerikas. Spanische Verwaltungsgebäude und Privathäuser im Herzen der Stadt haben die Tempel des alten Mexiko ersetzt und zu einer Synthese aus alten und neuen Architekturstilen geführt. Am Plaza de la Constitución, im historischen Stadtzentrum, befindet sich die Catedral Metropolitana, die größte Kathedrale des Landes, deren Bau 250 Jahre dauerte. Der untere Teil ist recht schlicht, aber der obere Teil ist im Barock- und neoklassizistischen Stil gestaltet. Sie enthält viele Altäre, und der Hauptaltar ist aus massivem Gold gefertigt. Ein Aufzug führt hinauf zum Torre Latinoamérica, einem erdbebensicheren Turm, der 1958 erbaut wurde. Eine Aussichtsplattform bietet einen wunderbaren Panoramablick, der den Palacio de Bellas Artes mit seiner orange-gelben Kuppel und das Juárez-Denkmal einschließt. Natürlich wäre ein Besuch in Mexiko-Stadt ohne die Mariachi-Musik unvollständig. Gehen Sie abends zum Plaza Garibaldi und genießen Sie die Mariachi-Musik. 50 Kilometer von Mexiko-Stadt entfernt befinden sich die antiken Überreste von Teotihuacan, das einst ein Zentrum für Handel, Kunst und rituelle Zeremonien war. Die Sonnenpyramide ist eine der größten Bauleistungen der Antike und wird als eines der wichtigsten Kulturzentren der Menschheit angesehen. Die faszinierende Geschichte der Stadt spiegelt sich sowohl in ihrer Kunst als auch in ihrer Architektur wider, mit altem Charme, indianischen Wurzeln und eleganten Gebäuden.
