Day 1: Rome - Florence
Welcome to your tour with Europamundo!We´ll journey to Florence, the capital of Tuscany. Upon arrival, we´ll stop at the Michelangelo viewpoint for a photo opportunity, offering one of the most stunning views of the city. Following this, we´ll embark on a sightseeing tour with a local guide of this renowned city, one of Italy´s most visited destinations considered the cradle of the Renaissance and some of the most influential artists and thinkers in history, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli, and Raphael. Highlights of the tour include the Gothic cathedral Duomo di Firenze, the historic Ponte Vecchio, known for its goldsmith workshops along its paved streets and Piazza della Signoria, the city´s political heart featuring the medieval town hall.
Day 2: Florence - Livorno - Bastia
Day 3: Bastia - Corte - Ajaccio
Tiempo libre en la capital de Córcega, podrá pasear por su casco antiguo donde se encuentra la casa en la que nació Napoleón y por sus elegantes avenidas junto al puerto. Tras ello seguimos nuestra ruta entre paisajes de gran belleza, parada y tiempo para almorzar en PROPIANO, pintoresca ciudad junto al mar. BONIFACIO, llegada a esta ciudad entre acantilados, tendrá tiempo para pasear por “La Marina” con sus grandes yates o subirá a la “ciudad alta” con sus callejones llenos de encanto y sus murallas. Embarcamos en ferry, una travesía de 50 minutos nos separa de Cerdeña. Llegada a Santa Teresa Gallura y continuación de ruta hacia OLBIA.- Llegada al final de la tarde.
Day 4: Ajaccio - Bonifacio - Palau - La maddalena - Sassari
Day 5: Sassari - Alghero - Bosa - Cagliari
Day 6: Cagliari - Ferry cagliari palermo
Day 7: Ferry cagliari palermo - Palermo
Day 8: Palermo - Cefalu - Castelbuono - Tindari - Milazzo
We’ll leave Palermo and follow the scenic Tyrrhenian Sea coastline, taking in beautiful landscapes along the way. We’ll head inland to Castelbuono, a little picturesque mountain town that captures the tranquility of Sicily’s interior with its ancient walls, castle, and charming central streets. Our next stop will be Cefalù, a charming coastal town. Its Norman cathedral, renowned for its unique architecture and mosaics, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The historic center is a delightful mix of narrow streets, sea views, and commercial and tourist life. After some time for lunch, we’ll continue along the coast and visit Tindari, where the Sanctuary of Tindari stands atop a mountain, offering breathtaking views of the sea. This famous pilgrimage site is home to the Black Madonna. Nearby, you’ll find the ruins of an ancient Greek polis. Our journey will conclude in Milazzo, a lively port city overlooking the volcanic Aeolian Islands.
Day 9: Milazzo - Vulcano - Lipari - Taormina
Our day will be filled with unforgettable experiences as we explore two islands in the Aeolian archipelago, UNESCO World Heritage Sites renowned for their continuous volcanic activity. We’ll start with a hydrofoil boat ride to Vulcano, where you’ll immediately be struck by the smell of sulfur from the island’s active fumaroles. Dominated by its crater, Vulcano is famous for its hot water beaches. We highly recommend indulging in the sulfurous hot springs, as the mud is said to have great benefits for the skin. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind experience! Next, we’ll take a 15-minute hydrofoil boat ride to Lipari, the largest and most charming of the Aeolian Islands, with its historic center, castle, and vibrant tourist scene. You’ll have time for lunch and a leisurely stroll. Afterward, we’ll return by boat to Milazzo and continue to Taormina, arriving by the end of the day. Dinner will be included.Note: During the summer or on special dates, accommodation may be arranged in Messina instead of Taormina.
Day 10: Taormina - Caltagirone - Villa romana del casale - Palermo
Nestled at the foot of Mount Etna, the beautiful city of Taormina was once described by Churchill as the most beautiful place on earth. You’ll have time to explore the vibrant old town, where the Greek theater is set against the breathtaking landscape. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey toward the center of the island. Our next stop will be Caltagirone, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its impressive Baroque architecture. You’ll get to ride a little tourist train (included), where you’ll learn about the city and its key landmarks. Caltagirone is also the ceramic capital of Sicily, as seen in its numerous shops, workshops, and iconic sites, including the famous 142-step staircase, each step uniquely decorated with colorful tiles. After lunch, you’ll tour Villa Romana del Casale with a local guide (admission and tour included), another UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the Roman Empire, villas were symbols of agricultural wealth, and Villa del Casale is exceptional not only for its well-preserved 4th-century architecture but also for its stunning mosaics, which adorn almost every room, considered the finest in the Roman world. We’ll then cross the island’s mountainous interior and continue to Palermo, arriving by the end of the day.
Day 11: Palermo
After breakfast, our journey will come to an end, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
