Stellenbosch, Afrique du Sud

tellenbosch est une ville de la province du Cap occidental, en Afrique du Sud, située à environ 50 kilomètres à l'est du Cap, sur les rives de la rivière Eerste. Il s'agit de la deuxième plus ancienne colonie européenne de la province, après le Cap. La ville est devenue la ville des chênes ou Eikestad en afrikaans et en néerlandais en raison du grand nombre de chênes plantés par son fondateur, Simon van der Stel, pour orner les rues et les fermes. Stellenbosch a sa propre municipalité (comprenant les villes voisines de Pniel et de Franschhoek), adjacente à la zone métropolitaine de la ville du Cap. La ville abrite l'université de Stellenbosch. Le Technopark est un parc scientifique moderne situé dans la partie sud de la ville, près du parcours de golf de Stellenbosch.
