ステレンボッシュ, 南アフリカ

テレンボッシュは南アフリカの西ケープ州にある町で、ケープタウンの東約50 km（31マイル）に位置し、エルステ川のほとりに沿っています。ケープタウンに次ぐ、州で2番目に古いヨーロッパ人の入植地です。町は、創設者のシモンファンデルステルが通りや家屋を飾るために植えたオークの木がたくさんあることから、アフリカーンス語とオランダ語でオークの街またはエイケスタッドとして知られるようになりました。ステレンボッシュには、ケープタウン市の大都市圏に隣接する独自の自治体（隣接するプニールとフランシュフックの町を含む）があります。町にはステレンボッシュ大学があります。テクノパークは、町の南側、ステレンボッシュゴルフコースの近くにある近代的な科学公園です。
