عشق‌آباد, ترکمنستان

عشق‌آباد، که به نام پولتوراتسک نیز شناخته می‌شود، پایتخت و بزرگترین شهر ترکمنستان در آسیای مرکزی است که بین صحرای قره‌قوم و رشته‌کوه کوپه‌داغ واقع شده است. این شهر در سال ۲۰۱۳ در کتاب رکوردهای گینس به عنوان شهری با بالاترین تراکم ساختمان‌های مرمر سفید در جهان ثبت شد. این شهر پس از خروج از اتحاد جماهیر شوروی، بسیاری از ساختمان‌های بلندمرتبه را به دست آورد. در این فرآیند، عشق‌آباد تکنیک‌های مدرن ساخت و ساز را به کار گرفت و بسیاری از ساختمان‌ها از مرمر ساخته شده‌اند. این شهر میزبان یکی از بزرگترین مساجد آسیای مرکزی است: مسجد کیپچاق که به نام «مسجد ترکمن‌باشی روحی» نیز شناخته می‌شود. این مسجد به دلیل داشتن نوشته‌هایی از هر دو کتاب قرآن کریم و روح‌نامه (کتاب روح) مورد بحث و جدل قرار گرفته است.
