Suwon[a] (Hangul: 수원, Hanja: 水原, Koreaanse uitspraak: [su.wʌn]) is de hoofdstad en grootste metropool van Gyeonggi-do, de meest bevolkte provincie van Zuid-Korea die Seoul, de nationale hoofdstad, omringt. Suwon ligt ongeveer 30 kilometer (19 mijl) ten zuiden van Seoul. Het staat traditioneel bekend als "De Stad van de Kinderlijke Eerbied". Met een bevolking van bijna 1,2 miljoen, Suwon heeft in verschillende vormen bestaan gedurende de geschiedenis van Korea, groeiend van een kleine nederzetting tot een belangrijk industrieel en cultureel centrum.
